About Slow Learning

In this rapidly changing, crazy, hyped-up, over-informed, wicked world we all could use a bit of a breather.

Every once in a while I like to take a pause, draw some pictures, and share visual stories from what I’m learning. In this newsletter you’ll see comics, sketchnotes, book reviews, and other simply-told stories about complex topics including art, dance, music, fiction, systems theory and learning about learning itself.

Here you can enjoy the deep, cool waters of life in the slow lane.

Coming clean about being slow

I’d like to say that I’m a slow learner by choice, but that wouldn’t be completely honest. While learning slowly certainly has its many advantages (a topic I’ll return to often), I must admit that I can’t help but take my time when learning. And I like to learn about a lot of complex, thorny, difficult things. I’m guessing you do to.

Being slow hasn’t been easy. The whole wide world seems to thrive on being fast , and I’ve tried my best to keep up. These days we all could use a little help.

I will include tips and insights from my many years of struggle with thinking “a little different” but mostly you’re going so see comics and pictures about what I’m learning, how I use slow as a superpower with art and maps and other visual tools, and how I make sense of this wicked and wonderful world.

SLOW does not equal less than, by the way. If you’re slow like me, then welcome home. And if you want to be slow I can show you how.
